The Pannovation concept can used to spot where the new emerges. The new tend to emerge where the resistance is not too strong, the hurdles not too high, and the gates not too narrow. Gatekeeping structures can be visualized as geography, as a topographical map. The reach, strengths, and influence of different gatekeeping functions correspond to heights and hills, and narrow gaps, requiring effort and time to pass. In between them there are valleys and flatlands - spaces where ideas can evolve and be realized. The geography isn´t static, it changes, like the face of the Earth.
